Designing a Tranquil Oasis in Qingdao

Designed by Chunhua Ji and his team, the Narada Resort Spa Qingdao is a unique project located in the picturesque Laoshan scenic area of Qingdao. Inspired by the European missionaries who arrived in Qingdao a hundred years ago, the designers sought to create a space that would capture the essence of both Eastern and Western cultures.

The resort aims to provide guests with an immersive experience that allows them to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding natural landscape while also exploring the rich cultural heritage of the region. The design incorporates elements such as Lushan, Huanghai, and Taoism, seamlessly blending them with European influences.

One of the standout features of the Narada Resort Spa Qingdao is its use of materials. Stone, brushed bronze, wire art glass, mountain wood veneer, painted lacquered board, wallpaper, art paint, and art floor all come together to create a visually stunning and tactile experience for guests.

The project covers a total area of 40,000 square meters and includes a banquet hall that can accommodate up to 420 people. By incorporating the original banquet hall into the design, the capacity was increased from 560 square meters to 680 square meters, ensuring that it meets the needs of the local community.

The Narada Resort Spa Qingdao is not only a feast for the senses but also a testament to the successful fusion of different design styles and cultural influences. By combining European and Chinese elements, Chunhua Ji and his team have created a space that is both visually striking and deeply meaningful.

With its emphasis on nature, wellness, and the balance between man and sea, the resort offers guests a chance to reconnect with themselves and their surroundings. It is a place where one can truly appreciate the beauty of life.

Chunhua Ji and his team, including Jianhong Qiu, Ming Tan, Changpu Wu, Rongyang Yang, Ximing Zhu, and Xuejia Yang, have successfully brought their vision to life, creating a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and inviting.

The Narada Resort Spa Qingdao is a testament to the power of design to create a harmonious and immersive experience. By blending different cultural influences and paying homage to the natural beauty of the surroundings, Chunhua Ji and his team have created a tranquil oasis in the heart of Qingdao.
